What is a fanlisting? According to TFL.org, 'A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Labyrinth is a 1986 fantasy film directed by Jim Henson and designed through the art of Brian Froud and Henson, with screenwriting by Henson, children's author Dennis Lee, and Monty Python alum Terry Jones. A novelization was written by A. C. H. Smith. The human leads are David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King, and a teenage Jennifer Connelly as Sarah Williams. The plot revolves around Sarah's quest to rescue her little brother from the Goblin King, while trapped in a world that is an enormous fantasy maze.
Sarah Williams is a dreamer, a young woman obsessed with fantasy and playing dress-up who is stuck babysitting her brother after a fight with her step-mother. Even worse, he has her treasured stuffed bear, Lancelot. Sarah tries to quiet his screaming by telling him the story from her favorite book (also called Labyrinth), of a young woman granted special powers by the king of the goblins. It tells of how the girl could no longer stand her life and wishes for goblins to take away her screaming baby brother. As she ends the story and turns out the light, she says, "I wish the goblins would come and take you away...right now." Toby's crying suddenly stops. Worried, Sarah enters his room to find he has vanished.
An owl flutters through the opened window and transforms into the goblin king Jareth (David Bowie) and tells her he has taken the baby as a gift to her. Appalled at the realization of what she had done, she begs for the return of her brother. He gives her 13 hours to find Toby before he is turned into a goblin. Now she must find her way to the center of a fantastic labyrinth and bring him back.

"Magic Dance" is one of the featured songs performed by David Bowie in the 1986 Jim Henson movie, Labyrinth. It is also credited as "Dance Magic" in some instances.
This song is a dance number which momentarily takes the focus away from Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) to observe the goings on in the castle at the center of the labyrinth. Jareth, played by Bowie, is contemplating which magical spell would be proper to turn Toby into a goblin once Sarah's time runs out. Unable to think due to his subjects' disruptive antics, Jareth amuses himself by singing to Toby.
The song then begins with a simple dance beat, while a series of questions and answers between Jareth and the goblins presented in call-response form are layered over. Seeing that the goblins are still confused, Jareth provides further explanation in the form of an 80's dance/rock sequence. The goblins all sing along with Jareth, recounting multiple spells, and ultimately choosing a form of "magic dance" to transform Toby.
The song appears in different forms in the film and on the soundtrack. Both versions use the same basic song and recordings made in the studio, but vocal tracks for the film and soundtrack were recorded apart from each other. In addition, the song is shortened in the film, fading out mid-way through.
The song also appears in a reprise medley with Underground at the end of the film.
