Madonna who had initial plans to wear a pair of earrings belonging to the late Elizabeth Taylor for her performance at the Super Bowl Halftime show abandoned the idea shortly before the concert. The diamond earrings valued at $1 million were a gift to Taylor from her ex-husband Richard Burton. Plans to wear the earrings were given up when it was found that they would be a bit heavy for her vigorous performance.
According to sources she had planned to add the earrings, belonging to the famed Hollywood idol, to her costume for the stage show. However the Queen of Pop changed her mind subsequently owing to practical problems. The diamond tasselled earrings were lent to her by its new owners who had won it at the recent four day event at Christie's where quite a few of the actress's jewels were auctioned. Madonna chose to substitute the 1million dollar jewel with a white and gold diamond pair from Bulgari and matched them with her glamorous gladiator costume.
The songstress gave an electrifying performance at the Super Bowl show. The audience and TV viewers were simply bowled over with the 12 minute composition from her hits. Though Madonna left immediately after the performance, her troupe of dancers stayed back to cheer with the crowd on post-performance fan reactions.

A Bedford woman finds her lost diamond ring in the trash, she accidentally threw heirloom diamond ring in the trash. The diamond ring was found in the garbage bin the next day. Joan sawyer who lost her diamond ring and later found it in the pile of trash says its her most priced and memorable thing which belongs to her late great aunt, last Tuesday she had removed the ring to clean it , and wrapped it in a paper towel to dry.
She threw the crumpled paper towel without realizing that the diamond ring was inside it, later she realized that the diamond ring was inside it after the garbage collector had taken it. Panicked sawyer later that night called the Department of Public works, the workers there told her to get in touch with the trash collectors. She later came to know that her trash had been headed to the Covanta incinerator in Haverhill.
The workers there helped her to find her ring and looked up into the garbage bags, sawyer spotted a green container which she had thrown into the trash, her husband picked up a paper towel and luckily the diamond ring was inside it. The workers told her that many people have lost their diamond rings, but she was the one of the lucky one to find it and hugged her.
